About Us:Here at Xtremeline Products we manufacture all of the products we sell. When you purchase an item, you can buy it with complete confidence. We stand behind all our items and customers 110%. We manufacture everything here in the U.S.A.
All of our products (i.e. Sissy Bars, Luggage Racks, etc.) are Laser cut using the best machines available. Our parts, spacers, and other hardware are machined to plus (+) or minus (-) .0002 of an inch for extreme accuracy. They are all cut, formed, and polished to a mirror finish in house. The parts then go to our chroming plant where they are prepped and Triple Chrome Plated, which is the best and most expensive way to plate.
How it’s done: First, all the metal and aluminum pieces are polished by sanding them down a minimum of 4 different times by using different grit belts. Then they are buffed to a mirror finish using 3 additional and different buffing wheels. After the buffing process, the metal pieces are so shinny that they already look like they are chromed, but their not!
Second, the products go to chroming where they are dipped into 5 different cleaning and rinsing baths in order to make sure the products are perfectly clean. Afterwards the products are dipped in a nickel bath twice for 15 minutes each time for a total of 30 minutes. Then they go into a chrome bath for an additional 15 minutes. This is called the Triple Chrome Plate process.
Other companies use copper instead of nickel, which is much cheaper and will not give you the deep shine that looks best. The copper process will also give the products less quality along with weaker chrome plating.
The nickel and chrome adhere to the metal by positively charging the metal with an extremely high current. When the products are dipped into the nickel and chrome baths, the actual bath is negatively charged with current and the bubbling minerals are bonded like a magnet to the metal.
Depending on the size of the item the entire manufacturing process can take 3 to 9 hours of manual labor.
We hope you may have learned a little about our standards and the process in which your parts are made. We take pride in what we do and we love to see our products on the street.
